Job Description
The Procurement Coordinator will support our core procurement functions including creating purchase orders; coordinating with forwarders, brokers, and suppliers for booking spaces, requesting shipping documents, supporting customs clearance; monitoring shipment status. It also includes assisting accounting and financial department, contract administration, presentations and correspondence, data entry, and data tracking. For the right candidate, there will be opportunities for growth and career development.
This individual will work closely with and report to the Director of Operations; however, will also collaborate with other team members on a daily basis such like accounting and finance. He or she must possess a collaborative nature and be comfortable working on small teams for detailed tasks. A highly motivated, focused and positive attitude is essential to this role as working within this industry can often be demanding and challenging, with priorities sometimes shifting at a moment’s notice.
Requirements
Background and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or related field
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a professional office, including at l** one year of experience in one of the following areas: Accounting and Finance, project coordination, data analysis, procurement, finance, supply chain management
Skills
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and high level of proficiency with Excel: comfortable with Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP and complex formula creation
- Exceptional communication skills both written and oral, strong grammar, with experience in content editing and preparing formal reports
- Experience managing a daily workload with several overlapping deadlines and a variety of tasks
- Utilization of resources to generate effective solutions based on available information
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and tight deadlines and take ownership and accountability for issue resolution
- Strong organizational skills with complementary proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel,

- Consistently demonstrates high integrity, behaves ethically, and follows through on commitments
- Ability to maintain focus in a busy office environment
- Must be comfortable in a supporting role, taking direction from and working closely with a supervisor on a regular basis

- Interest in procurement systems, supply chain management, contract negotiations, data mining, marketing, manufacture and/or logistics

Preferred but not required
- Experience using Oracle NetSuite
- Knowledge of market analysis techniques, sourcing category strategy, vendor relationship management, and sales forecasting
